Mexico, and particularly the town of San Miguel de Allende, have long been sort of a home destination for me. I have family that live there and have owned my own home there as well. In the series The Color of San Miguel, the whimsy of the country's people has always stricken and inspired me. Here I see many modest scenes but with touches of loving care like in A Single Rose and Balloons in San Antonio. There is a simple spacial aethstetic here as noticed in Six Pots. Besides setting out on foot I often photograph the city from my casa's master bedroom terrace. One early morning I captured Vista Over El Caracol. and on another day before the sun rose I captured Return to Parque Juarez when the egrets fly to the nearby parque every winter morning.
