With the glow of Las Vegas in the distance and the sulfur trucks headed home I sit in the ever darkening lake bed. Silver Lake outside of Baker, California is a place with a lot of nothing, sky and dried mud. Originally and still are remnants of train tracks that hauled sulfur back and forth to The main line of the Santa Fe. When the sun drops the stars come alive and for a brief window the post sunset give a balance of light that can be divine. Visit my California Deserts for more images.
